I had a shop look it over, they tested all wires for current. Then checked the reverse switch (I guessed it was that part), & it was no good. The part is $48, & should be in Friday. No more having other cars honk at me for backing up with the lights not working.

This has to be a Nissan thing. My 6mt Altima had this same issue. 50ish dollar reverse switch and it was fixed.

Now can we do something about those damn GM vehicles that leave their backup lights on for an extended time after leaving the vehicle? Every time I get stuck behind one of those guys, thinking that they’re backing out, I want to take a hammer to their taillights to prevent others from getting annoyed by this same bit of stupidity.

My G6 didn’t do it, neither does my Solstice. I think it’s BCM programming.

I’ve only seen W-Bodies do that.

Around here it’s mostly the newer monster SUVs (Yukon, Escalade, etc.) that do it. Obnoxious behavior from obnoxious vehicles, so it seems to fit.

Well I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same unit.

I mean my Solstice has a BCM with a fuse for a “sunroof” ... (Didn’t mind it though, made hooking up my phone charger and dash cam to ignition power a breeze. Full 20A of power at my disposal.)

I’m sure that there are other late-model GM vehicles that do it, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head, mostly because they don’t block out the sun like those beasts.
